玄學是魏晉時期的主要思潮，本課程將深入研究魏晉玄學的淵源、發展及理論，使學生能充分了解玄學內容，以及玄學在中國思想史上的價值與意義。在探究玄學理論後，進而結合魏晉時期文學作品與文學理論，專題探討魏晉玄學與文學之關係。俾使學生經此課程，對魏晉玄學思想有全面性的掌握，並對魏晉文學的發展流變有更深入的剖析。進而評價魏晉時期在中國文化史、文學史與思想史上的地位與影響。
課程教授以閱讀相關原典與重要論著為主要方式，以魏晉時期玄學論述、文學作品及理論為討論範圍。內容論及玄學的定義與產生之因，對玄學的主要論題概述後，以玄學史分期的方式深入專論各期玄學理論，其後再擴及玄學影響下的文學面向與理論內涵等課題。

Metaphysics was the main trend of thought in the Wei and Jin Dynasties. This course will conduct an in-depth study of the origin, development and theory of metaphysics in the Wei and Jin Dynasties, so that students can fully understand the content of metaphysics, as well as the value and significance of metaphysics in the history of Chinese thought. After exploring metaphysical theories, we then combine the literary works and literary theories of the Wei and Jin Dynasties to discuss the relationship between metaphysics and literature in the Wei and Jin Dynasties. Through this course, students can have a comprehensive grasp of the metaphysical thoughts of the Wei and Jin Dynasties, and have a more in-depth analysis of the development and evolution of the literature of the Wei and Jin Dynasties. Then evaluate the status and influence of the Wei and Jin Dynasties in the history of Chinese culture, literature and thought.
The course is taught by reading relevant original texts and important treatises as the main method, and discusses metaphysical discussions, literary works and theories in the Wei and Jin Dynasties. The content discusses the definition and origin of metaphysics. After an overview of the main topics of metaphysics, it goes into an in-depth monograph on the metaphysical theories of each period by dividing the history of metaphysics into periods. It then expands on topics such as the literary aspect and theoretical connotation under the influence of metaphysics.
