社會領域的課程目標在於啟發學生能夠承認差異,願意肯定自我、欣賞他人與尊重差異。
本課程屬於社會領域中社<會價值思辨>這個大主題。
在學術討論中,我們必須保持中立;但在現實的生活中,我們的言行、我們的各種選擇,甚至我們賭上一切,拼命追求的夢想、捍衛的所愛,都關乎我們在有意或無意之間所接受、所習得的價值觀。這些價值觀,可能是來自悠久的文化傳統,也可能是來自異文化的意識形態,也可能來自媒體一時的鼓吹型塑,或是自身生活歷練所凝聚的人生智慧。不管這些價值觀由何而來,它經常影響我們的心理、精神健康;左右我們的選擇,決定了眼下事務的成敗,或是人生道路的方向;這些價值觀更是我們行動動力、勇氣的源頭。
正因為如此,我們有必要一方面回頭檢視自己是依循何種價值觀在生活;另一方面,更要反省、辨明在社會化過程中,我們所接收到諸多價值觀的內涵為何?這些價值觀,究竟會引領我們過上健康幸福的人生,還是逼迫我們變得無比狂熱、癲狂,驅使我們跌入無盡痛苦的泥淖,愈是為之奮鬥,愈是更加不幸,至死方休?
我們都聽過,"傷害自己的不是事物本身,而是對事物的看法"這樣的說法;同理,會讓自己感到幸福、快樂的,往往也不是事物本身,而是對我們對事物的觀念。所以,能對自己拳拳服膺的價值觀、對社會上所流佈、所鼓吹的各種價值,進行深刻有效的反省,並做出相應的調整或改變,便有很大的機會讓自己從迷茫、虛妄、焦慮或痛苦的深淵,超拔而出,進而充滿活力、無畏人生道路上的各種困難與挑戰。
為了讓價值思辨不會顯得如此沉重、枯燥,本學期將挑選與日常生活相關的價值觀,做為課程討論的議題,並以小說、電影、戲劇或新聞話題,作為閱讀材料與討論話頭,再藉由同學們報告、相互論辯與討論的方式,讓大腦練習價值思辨,同時也深化對諸多價值的體會。
The goal of the course in the social field is to create students’ ability to acknowledge differences, be willing to affirm themselves, appreciate others and respect differences.

In academic discussions, we must remain neutral; but in real life, our words and deeds, our various choices, and even our dreams we strive for, and our loves that we defend are all related to the value we accept and receive intentionally or unintentionally. These values may come from the long-standing cultural tradition, from the ideological form of different cultures, from the media's temporary advocacy, or from the life wisdom condensed by the practice of one's own life. No matter where these value views come from, they often affect our mental and mental health; they influence our choices, and determine the success of our current affairs or the direction of our life path; these value views are the source of our movement and courage.
Because of this, it is necessary for us to look back and see what kind of value we follow in life; on the other hand, we must reflect and identify what the many values we have received in the process of socialization? Will these values lead us to a healthy and happy life, or force us to become extremely crazy and crazy, driving us into the quagmire of no pain, the more we fight, the more unfortunate we will be, and we will never stop until death?
We all hear the saying "It is not the things themselves that hurt ourselves, but the view of things." Similarly, what makes ourselves happy and happy is often not the things themselves, but our conception of things. Therefore, if you can deeply and effectively reflect on the values you have embraced, the various values you have spread and advocated in society, and make corresponding adjustments or changes, you will have a great opportunity to let yourself out of the depth of confusion, delusion, anxiety or pain, and become full of vitality and fearlessness of various difficulties and challenges on the road of life.
In order to prevent value thinking from being so heavy and boring, this school will select value thinking related to daily life as a discussion topic for course discussion, and use novels, movies, dramas or news topics as reading materials and discussions. Then, through classmates' reports, discussions and discussions, the brain will practice value thinking, and at the same time deepen the association of multi-value.
