本課程旨在探討日本生態學家、民族學家梅棹忠夫（1920-2010）的經典作品《文明的生態史觀》，從而深入理解自然生態和地緣政治經濟之間的交織與相互影響。課程不僅著眼於理論知識的傳授，更重視學生對梅棹生態史觀中對文明社會與永續實踐等多維度價值的理解和探索。透過此課程，學生將能理解《文明的生態史觀》中的生態學理論和比較文明理論並探討兩者之間的關聯。進而理解生態體系中的政治經濟與社會文化問題，反思當前全球化經濟中的永續發展與多元文化共生問題。最終培養批判性思考能力，學會從多元視角評估各類社會現象。

This course aims to explore the classic work "Ecological Historical View of Civilization" by Japanese ecologist and ethnologist Tadao Umeichi (1920-2010), so as to gain a deeper understanding of the interweaving and mutual influence between natural ecology and geopolitical economy. The course not only focuses on the teaching of theoretical knowledge, but also focuses on students’ understanding and exploration of the multi-dimensional values ​​of civilized society and sustainable practice in Meichu’s ecological historical perspective. Through this course, students will be able to understand the ecological theory and comparative civilization theory in "The Ecological History of Civilization" and explore the relationship between the two. Then understand the political, economic and social cultural issues in the ecological system, and reflect on the issues of sustainable development and multicultural symbiosis in the current globalized economy. Ultimately, students develop critical thinking skills and learn to evaluate various social phenomena from multiple perspectives.
