This is the first course in a four-course sequence of the Liberal Arts Honors CapstoneProject. This sequence of courses is an opportunity for the student to investigate aresearch question of interest to them. Any topic is allowed, so long as: 1) The topic touches on the liberal arts, broadly construed to include liberal arts approaches to business, science, engineering, and so on, as determined by the student's Liberal Arts Honors Program faculty supervisor; 2) The student is able to find a Tunghai facultymember (from any Tunghai academic department) willing to act as a primary supervisor.In this first course of this sequence - Honors Capstone Proposal Writing - students develop a proposal outlining a project that they will complete over the following threesemesters. Standardly, this project will involve a long-form writing project, howeveralternatives are possible, so long as they are approved by both the primary and and co-supervisors. This is a required course for Liberal Arts Honors students. However, it can be taken by students who are not members of the Liberal Arts Honors Program.
