1.認識犯罪心理學之意涵與發展及研究範疇，學習犯罪心理學之基礎理論與應用，俾以達成防治犯罪與預防被害之目標。
2.本課程著重於探討犯罪心理學相關理論基礎，著重探討精神疾病與犯罪之關聯性，各類型犯罪者之犯罪心理及其在刑事司法體系之心理反應。使課程參與者得瞭解心理學於犯罪防治上之應用。
3.透過國內外之實際新近案例，增加對犯罪心理學之興趣，並激發課程參與者之學習動機。培養其對社會案件之獨立思考與批判思辯能力。
