This course starts with five core roles in the gallery’s ecosystem, including artists, curators, gallery owners, administrators and collaborators, as well as visitors and buyers, gradually leading students to understand the operational structure and practical details of contemporary exhibitions. Through role-oriented approaches, students will observe how exhibitions are organized, produced and received, and discuss cooperation, conflicts and ethics issues between roles. During the course, cases, discussions and simulations will be combined to guide students to understand the daily practice and power relationships in the art field from different perspectives.
