1946 - 火星任務—社會學觀點 The Martian:Sociological Perspectives


教育目標 Course Target

這是一堂實作導向的課程,課程目標是讓課程參與者獲得兩種能力,第一是轉譯能力:要能夠針對議題進行思考與討論,並將思考成果具體化為可供展覽的「互動式作品」。第二是化繁為簡的導覽能力:在國立自然博物館進行展出時,能夠以日常對話方式,向一般參觀民眾傳達展品的意義並引導他們與展品互動,課程的合作單位與經費來源來自於東海大學高教深耕計畫以及國立自然科學博物館。 「火星任務」是一本小說,也曾經改編成電影《絕地任務》,小說內容是一位太空人因意外被遺留在火星上,於是利用太空艙中剩下的物資,讓自己存活,並試著向地球發出求救訊號。如果從理工學科的觀點出發,知識興趣大致會圍繞在如何利用有限的物資以及自己的知識,讓自己能夠有能夠維生的食物以及探索環境的工具。這堂課會從社會學的觀點出發,將討論聚焦於這位太空人順利存活下來後,與NASA取得聯繫,而NASA決定再派遣一群太空人上火星,他們的任務是繼續探測火星,並「建立」一個社會,他們會遭遇哪些問題?要如何分配有限資源?又要如何共同生活?這些都可以從社會思想史中的重要學說與概念進行發想,如「社會契約論」、「自然狀態」與「分配正義」等。最終,希望這些討論的結果,以及情境的想像,都能形成一個互動型的展品,並讓來看展的一般民眾也能連結到我們所處的社會,進行思考。同時也讓我們自己思考,目前當代社會的問題,是否換了一個情境重新開始,還是仍舊會發生,或者,我們可以找到其他可能性。 This is a practically directed course. The purpose of the course is to allow course participants to gain two abilities. The first is to translate abilities: be able to think and discuss the topic, and concretely transform the thinking results into "interactive works" for exhibition. The second is the ability to browse the complex and simple navigation: when exhibiting at the National Natural History Museum, you can convey the meaning of exhibits to general audiences through daily dialogue and guide them to interact with the exhibits. The cooperation units and fees for the course come from the Higher Education Deepening Plan of Donghai University and the National Natural Science Museum. "Mission of Mars" is a novel that was adapted into the movie "Mission of Earth". The novel is about an astronaut who was accidentally left on Mars, so he used the remaining materials in the space to make himself survive and tried to send a helping message to the earth. If developed from the perspective of science and engineering, knowledge interest will roughly surround how to use limited materials and your own knowledge, so that you can have food that can grow and tools to explore the environment. This class will be developed from the perspective of society and will focus on the discussion of the astronaut who survived successfully and gained contact with NASA, and NASA decided to send another group of astronauts to Mars. Their mission is to continue to explore Mars and "build" a society. What problems will they encounter? How to allocate limited resources? How to live together? These can all be thought of from important academic statements and concepts in the history of social thought, such as "social contract discussion", "natural status" and "distribution justice", etc. Finally, I hope that the results of these discussions and the imagination of the situation can form an interactive exhibit, and that ordinary people who come to the exhibition can also connect to the society where we are and think. At the same time, we also think about whether the current problem of contemporary society is whether it will change to a situation and start over again, or whether it will still happen, or we can find other possibilities.

60 課程中必須安排討論與思考的時間、發想與製作展品的時間以及在展場進行導覽的時間,因此,請各位多留一些彈性給這堂課。週末時需要採排班制至展場(科博館)與參觀民眾進行互動(週末大宗民眾以家庭為主,因此會有不少中小學兒童)
