本課程主要是Karl Polanyi經典《鉅變》（The Great Transformation）的深度閱讀。除了文本講授與討論外，透過與《鉅變》相關的大蕭條、濟貧院、合作社運動，以及當代2008金融風暴及失業勞工等相關主題影片提供的歷史背景，協助修課同學掌握《鉅變》的主要論點和當代重要意義。

This course is mainly an in-depth reading of Karl Polanyi's classic "The Great Transformation". In addition to text lectures and discussions, the historical background provided by videos related to "The Great Change" such as the Great Depression, workhouses, and the cooperative movement, as well as the contemporary 2008 financial crisis and unemployed labor, will help students in the course grasp the main arguments and contemporary significance of "The Great Change."
