在晚近國際政治的場域中，多元性別與酷兒家庭的議題已然成為眾所關注的焦點。比如，美國總統川普甫上任，便下令性別僅能是二元的、梵蒂岡新任教宗當選後，西方媒體即熱烈討論他對於同性婚姻的立場；再比如，奧運期間以及之後對於跨性別運動員的爭議。在同志運動邁入三十五年的今天，男跨女跨性別者的權益、以及同志可否使用代孕等人工生殖技術，也引發女性主義團體內部的論述衝突。

何謂多元性別？酷兒家庭的樣貌為何？「LGBTQ+」的身分認同和認同政治是如何發展出來的？認同、身體展演、情感、與情慾之間具有什麼樣的關係？在不同的政經脈絡中，多元性別的社會運動如何進行、各自的阻礙與突破的可能會是什麼？我們將藉由十一個主題，從歷史和社會的脈絡，以回應上述問題。本課的閱讀文本和參考文獻皆可見教學平台，每週課後，我們也會上傳教師（與講者）講授的PPT。

In the field of recent international politics, issues of gender diversity and queer families have become the focus of public attention. For example, as soon as U.S. President Trump took office, he decreed that gender could only be binary. After the new Pope was elected in the Vatican, the Western media heatedly discussed his stance on same-sex marriage; another example is the controversy over transgender athletes during and after the Olympics. Today, as the gay movement enters its 35th year, the rights of male-to-female transgender people and whether gays can use artificial reproductive technologies such as surrogacy have also triggered discussions within feminist groups.

What is gender diversity? What does a queer family look like? How did “LGBTQ+” identity and identity politics develop? What is the relationship between identity, physical performance, emotion, and eroticism? In different political and economic contexts, how do multi-gender social movements proceed, and what are their respective obstacles and possible breakthroughs? We will use eleven themes to respond to the above issues from the historical and social context. The reading text and references for this course can be found on the teaching platform. After each class, we will also upload PPTs taught by teachers (and speakers).
