瞭解台灣自戰後政治經濟體制發展、黨國威權、民主轉型、以及憲政發展的過程與內涵。

Understand the process and connotation of the development of political and economic systems in Taiwan after the war, party authority, democratic transformation, and political development.

旨在介紹台灣政治民主化歷程，從被殖民(葡、荷、西、清、日)、去殖民、民主轉型到台灣主體性建構，台灣政治歷經兩蔣威權統治、黨外運動時期、政黨競爭、第一次政黨輪替，到第二次政黨輪替(民主鞏固)，在寧靜革命不流血的情況下，台灣完成了民主化的大任，堪稱東亞民主的模範生，雖然台灣與大陸特殊的時空關係，讓台灣這塊土地上的住民為了統獨議題藍綠惡鬥紛擾不休，但身為台灣的知識份子，有權利也有義務，用更宏觀歷史與政治學的角度來檢視台灣民主發展的軌跡。

To introduce the process of political democratization in Taiwan, from being colonized (Portuguese, Netherlands, Western, Qing, Japanese), decolonization, democracy to the main structure of Taiwan, Taiwan's political history has been governed by the two powers, the period of party foreign movement, political competition, the first political party replacement, to the second political party replacement (democratic solidarity), under the circumstance of the Ningjing Revolution, Taiwan has completed the great task of democratization and is a model of democracy in East Asia. Although Taiwan’s special time and space relations with the mainland have made the residents of this land in Taiwan struggle for the sake of the unique issues, but as intellectuals in Taiwan, they have rights and responsibilities, and have a more comprehensive view of history and politics to examine the development of Taiwan’s democratic development.
