Understand the process and connotation of the development of Taiwan's political and economic system, party-state authority, democratic transformation, and constitutional development since the war.

旨在介紹台灣政治民主化歷程，從被殖民(葡、荷、西、清、日)、去殖民、民主轉型到台灣主體性建構，台灣政治歷經兩蔣威權統治、黨外運動時期、政黨競爭、第一次政黨輪替，到第二次政黨輪替(民主鞏固)，在寧靜革命不流血的情況下，台灣完成了民主化的大任，堪稱東亞民主的模範生，雖然台灣與大陸特殊的時空關係，讓台灣這塊土地上的住民為了統獨議題藍綠惡鬥紛擾不休，但身為台灣的知識份子，有權利也有義務，用更宏觀歷史與政治學的角度來檢視台灣民主發展的軌跡。

It aims to introduce the process of Taiwan's political democratization, from colonization (Portuguese, Dutch, Spanish, Qing, Japanese), decolonization, democratic transformation to the construction of Taiwan's subjectivity. Taiwan's politics has gone through the authoritarian rule of Chiang Kai-shek and Chiang Kai-shek, the period of extra-party movements, party competition, the first party rotation, and the second party rotation (democratic consolidation). Under the circumstances of the Quiet Revolution without bloodshed, Taiwan has completed the task of democratization and can be regarded as a model student of democracy in East Asia. Although the special time and space relationship between Taiwan and the mainland has caused the residents of Taiwan to fight endlessly over the issue of reunification and independence, as Taiwanese intellectuals, we have the right and obligation to examine the trajectory of Taiwan's democratic development from a broader historical and political perspective.
