國際政治是非常複雜的現象。我們每天從電視、網路、報紙和雜誌上都會看到許多和國際關係相關的事件或新聞，例如美國關稅、俄國與烏克蘭戰爭後續、歐州政治經整合、六方會談、以巴衝突、印巴再度爆發衝突以及地緣政治危機的變化等。本科目為國際關係入門的導論性課程，我們的目的不只是在於提醒大家注意這些每天發生的大小的事件，更在於引導同學們對於國際關係中重複出現的現象做出觀察，並以領域中重要的觀念和理論加以探討。

此外，區域經濟整合與國際經濟全球化為近幾年來世界經濟的重要趨勢，彼此間的衝突矛盾日益彰顯。區域經濟組織和國際組織所形成之各種國際政策及原則對未來國際經濟有相當重要的影響，透過對各區域經濟整合的了解，進而分析其對全球及我國經濟發展的影響，加強學生們對訊息萬變的國際經濟有所認識，特別側重於對歐洲經濟整合的介紹。當然，針對歐洲區域整合、歐洲政治經整合議題、亞太區域整合的前景，也會成為上課的討論重點。

International politics is a very complex phenomenon. Every day we see many events or news related to international relations on TV, the Internet, newspapers and magazines, such as US tariffs, the aftermath of the war between Russia and Ukraine, European political and economic integration, the Six-Party Talks, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the renewed conflict between India and Pakistan, and changes in geopolitical crises. This course is an introductory course for international relations. Our purpose is not only to remind everyone to pay attention to these big and small events that happen every day, but also to guide students to observe recurring phenomena in international relations and discuss them with important concepts and theories in the field.

In addition, regional economic integration and international economic globalization have become important trends in the world economy in recent years, and conflicts and contradictions between them have become increasingly apparent. Various international policies and principles formed by regional economic organizations and international organizations have a very important impact on the future international economy. By understanding the economic integration of various regions, and then analyzing its impact on global and Chinese economic development, students can strengthen their understanding of the ever-changing international economy, with a special focus on the introduction of European economic integration. Of course, European regional integration, European political and economic integration issues, and the prospects for Asia-Pacific regional integration will also become the focus of discussion in class.

國際政治強調理論與個案研究。面對林林總總國際政治現象，運用那些角度切入瞭解是個嚴肅課題。本課程期望從總體與個體面向著手，使學習者掌握基礎，進而對國際政治的理論與實務產生廣泛性瞭解。

International politics emphasizes theory and case studies. Facing various international political phenomena, using those angles to understand them is a serious issue. This course hopes to enable learners to master the basics from the overall and individual aspects, and then develop a broad understanding of the theory and practice of international politics.
