生態學能幫助我們了解生態系統的結構、功能與相互關係，進而預測人類活動可能造成的影響。
在具備生態學基礎知識後，本課程將指導學生如何將這些理論應用於環境影響評估實務 。環境影響評估結合了汙染對生態系影響等環境科學理論，是一門重要的實作課程。它將理論知識應用於實際，評估開發行為對環境的潛在影響，並提出減輕或避免不利影響的措施。

Ecology can help us understand the structure, function and relationships of the ecosystem, and thus predict the possible impact of human activities.
After having basic knowledge of ecological science, this course will guide students how to apply these theories to environmental impact assessment practices. Environmental impact assessment combines environmental scientific theories such as the impact of diagnosing on ecological systems, and is an important practical course. It applies theoretical knowledge to the actual, evaluates the potential impact of development behavior on the environment, and proposes measures to lighten or avoid adverse effects.

3.訓練學生進行相關生態調查所需的基本觀念與技能，從中培養對生態環境的認識與關懷。
