蜜蜂不只讓自然界充滿生機，在人類生活各方面也有的重大的貢獻。蜜蜂採集
花蜜與花粉繁衍族群，同時也完成許多植物的授粉工作。蜂産品成為人們最早
的作物來源，也是珍貴天然健康食品。如蜂蜜、花粉、蜂膠、蜂王漿等。蜜蜂
為作物授粉所產生的收益遠超過蜂產品本身的價值。蜜蜂是農業上重要的經濟
動物之一，台灣蜂產品年產值約30 億新台幣，估計蜜蜂授粉間接年產值更高達
200 億至300 億新台幣。蜜蜂更是人類師法自然的最佳導師，從族群內的訊息溝
通、社會行為、神經生理到族群遺傳等，皆為人類重要的生態研究材料。希望
藉由本課程使學生深入認識多元的蜜蜂產業與文化，以培育相關人才促進養蜂
永續發展，更希望能提昇環境保育的意識，促成蜜蜂族群之保護，以維持臺灣
美好的生態體系。
