本課程是基因操作的延續性課程，將遺傳工程課程內容的三大主題設計成單元，進階的遺傳工程的三大單元，以團體導向學習結合實例討論，配合實作影片及分析，期使大學部高年級學生了解如何以遺傳工程技術學來探討一個特定生物科學的問題。內容包含基因選殖基本及進階應用方法，真核細胞中的基因表達，各類真核細胞表達載體，動物細胞轉染，西方點墨法，定點突變法，基因靶向及編輯，轉殖小鼠，遺傳工程在醫學及疾病治療的應用等。本課程將以實驗原理配合實作演示影片，以小組作業討論，來顯示遺傳工程技術學的重要實作觀念。期望能灌輸學生基本觀念，並加強實驗設計經驗。

This course is a continuation course of genetic manipulation. The three major themes of the genetic engineering course content are designed into units. The three advanced units of genetic engineering use group-oriented learning combined with case discussions, practical videos and analysis, with the aim of enabling senior students in the undergraduate department to understand how to use genetic engineering technology to explore a specific biological science problem. The content includes basic and advanced application methods of gene selection, gene expression in eukaryotic cells, various eukaryotic cell expression vectors, animal cell transfection, Western dot method, site-directed mutagenesis, gene targeting and editing, transgenic mice, and the application of genetic engineering in medicine and disease treatment. This course will use experimental principles, practical demonstration videos, and group work discussions to demonstrate important practical concepts in genetic engineering technology. It is expected to instill in students basic concepts and enhance their experience in experimental design.
