本學期課程，主要在探討化學平衡所需要的概念，
物質於平衡狀態下的宏觀性質、基礎熱力學和化學平衡。
首先藉由氣體的性質建立狀態方程式與對應狀態原理，
接著探究熱力學第一、第二及第三定律，以及熱力學基本觀念，
最後將這些基本熱力學觀念應用於各熱力學基本定律、相變化、簡單的混合物、相圖及化學平衡上。
