本課程將以哲學重要三個子領域作為主軸，分別介紹佛教形上學、佛教知識論、佛教倫理學三個部分。課程將介紹佛教重要教義，例如、五蘊、無我、緣起、涅槃、因明等，輔以重要的哲學議題，例如，自我（意識統一性問題）、外在世界（實在論與反實在論）、倫理（效益論或義務論）、邏輯（辯論方法）等作為討論核心。課程將以 Mark Siderits 所著《Buddhism as Philosophy: An Introduction》作為教科書。課程兼及漢傳佛教中的主體性哲學，如《大乘起信論》思想；哲學中實踐與知識密不可分，課程中亦會介紹佛教禪修哲學並安排相關的專家學者來系演講。
This course will focus on three important sub-fields of philosophy as the main axes, and will introduce three parts: Buddhist metaphysics, Buddhist knowledge and Buddhist ethics. The course will introduce important Buddhist teachings, such as, Five Sects, No Self, Initiation, Nirvana, Cause and Improvement, etc., and will take important philosophical questions, such as self (the problem of consciousness unity), the external world (actual and anti-actual discussion), ethics (benefits or obligations), logic (declaration methods), etc. as the core of the discussion. The course will be based on the Buddhist as Philosophy: An Introduction by Mark Siderits. The course also includes the subjective philosophy in Han Buddhism, such as the idea of "Awakening of Faith in Mahayana". The practice in philosophy is closely related to knowledge, and the course is also introduced to Buddhist philosophy and arrange relevant experts to give lectures.
