愛是一種情緒，也是愛者與被愛者之間的一種關係。愛 (love) 與愛的關係 (loving relationships) 使一個人有理由做某事，為他的行動提供動機，也可以賦予事物意義和價值。愛與愛的關係在我們的生活中扮演了某個角色，它們具有怎樣的性質？對我們造成了怎樣的影響？為什麼我們如此重視愛與愛的關係？用怎樣的方式來重視它們是恰當的？在這門課，我們將藉由不同的哲學家的觀點來討論這些問題。我們預計要討論的主題，包括愛作為一種情緒、愛作為一種症候群、愛與演化的關係、從心理學與神經科學來解釋什麼是愛、墜入情網、逝去的愛、愛與悲傷的合理性、愛與政治和解、父母之愛、酷兒的愛、愛與動物、對自然環境的愛、情歌、愛與文學、以及網路約會和戀愛機器人等。
Love is a kind of emotion and a relationship between the loved one and the loved one. Love (love) is a relationship with love (loving relationships) that gives a person a reason to do something, provides an opportunity for his actions, and can also give meaning and value to things. The relationship between love and love plays a role in our lives. What are their natures? What impact did it have on us? Why do we value the relationship between love and love so much? How is it appropriate to value them? In this course, we will discuss these questions through the perspectives of different philosophers. The topics we plan to discuss include love as a emotion, love as a syndrome, love and evolutionary relationship, explanation from psychology and neuroscience about what love is, love is entangled, lost love, the rationality of love and tragedy, love and political reconciliation, parents' love, cool love, love and animals, love for the natural environment, love songs, love and literature, as well as online parties and love robots.
