《莊子》一書乃先秦道家哲學之集大成者，其思想深遠地影響中國古代倫理、政治與人生觀之發展，亦對後世佛學、玄學乃至現代東亞思想形構產生深刻回響。本課程旨在透過哲學性的文本細讀與概念釐清，引導學生掌握《莊子》倫理思想之理論內涵與實踐意涵，並評估其對現代倫理學討論的可能貢獻與批判潛力。

課程核心問題包括但不限於：「《莊子》是否主張一種倫理理論？若是，其理論基礎為何？」「面對相對主義與價值多元，《莊子》如何提出回應？」「『無為』與『逍遙』是否為倫理行動的指引原則？」「在缺乏明確規範的前提下，行動的正當性如何獲得？」以及「莊子的語言觀與倫理觀之間有何關聯？」藉由上述問題的推進，學生不僅能培養批判閱讀《莊子》文本的能力，更將習得哲學性分析與倫理判準的訓練。

"Zhuangzi" is the culmination of pre-Qin Taoist philosophy. Its thoughts have profoundly influenced the development of ethics, politics and outlook on life in ancient China, and have also had a profound impact on later Buddhism, metaphysics and even the ideological structure of modern East Asia. This course aims to guide students to grasp the theoretical connotation and practical implications of Zhuangzi's ethical thought through philosophical text reading and conceptual clarification, and to evaluate its possible contribution and critical potential to modern ethical discussions.

Core questions of the course include, but are not limited to: "Does Zhuangzi advocate an ethical theory? If so, what is its theoretical basis?" "How does Zhuangzi respond to relativism and value pluralism?" "Are "wuwei" and "freedom" guiding principles for ethical action?" "In the In the absence of clear norms, how can actions be justified? ” and “What is the relationship between Zhuangzi’s views on language and ethics?” Through the advancement of the above questions, students will not only develop the ability to critically read the text of "Zhuangzi", but also acquire training in philosophical analysis and ethical judgment.
