教育目標 Course Target
社會想象即為人們想象其集體社會生活的方式。Taylor認為現代社會有三個特徵：市場經濟、公共領域和人民自治，以此區分了歐洲傳統的等級社會與現代的世俗道德秩序。Taylor說明了我們如何發展出一種社會想象，將之理解為以增進彼此之福祉的交換貨品與服務的經濟系統，如何把公共領域想象為陌生人討論相互之間的關懷之議題的領域，如何發展出能夠有不訴諸超越原則的世俗行動的自我統治的人民的觀念。
Social imagination is the way people imagine their collective social life. Taylor believes that modern society has three characteristics: market economy, public territories and people's autonomy, which divides European traditional society and modern secular moral order. Taylor explains how we develop a social imagination, understand it as an economic system for exchange goods and services that enhance each other’s well-being, how we imagine the public domain as a field where strangers discuss mutual concerns, and how we develop the concept of self-ruling people who have secular actions that do not object to secular actions that transcend principles.
