戲曲藝術結合文學、歷史、音樂、舞蹈與表演，是立體的、綜合的藝術呈現，本實作課為台積電文教基金會贊助、國光劇團與東海大學中文系協助規劃與執行的「校園戲曲傳承計畫」，將由國光劇團專業京劇演員師資群傳幫帶，親領學生投入表演實踐。以傳統經典劇目《春草闖堂》為範本，由國光劇團專業京劇演員師資群親授京劇唱念作表，進行肢體、發聲、角色、音樂、唱腔、服裝等環節之演練培訓。由演員、排練等劇場實務工作者，向學生全方位地實地傳授京劇表演藝術，期能更深化紮根地達到實踐戲曲傳承在校園，為臺灣的京劇未來式，推動更輻射的傳播，讓校園的學生演員吸引更多的校園年輕學生，重新看見戲曲文學之美，豐厚人文生活底蘊。

本學期修課學生需搭配「古典戲曲」一起選修，「古典戲曲」著重戲曲審美藝術與劇本分析的知識基礎，實作課則進一步安排戲曲表演實作課程；主要學習的劇碼是有「天下第一喜劇」之稱的《春草闖堂》，這學期學習的內涵為第一場「闖堂」。


這門課比較特殊之處在於是一門學習京劇表演的課程，強調實作，而非坐在課堂上聽講；但是我們還是要求學生要有基本戲曲知識；所以建議修課學生至少要同步或曾經修過「古典戲曲」以及「當代戲曲與劇場」兩門課（至少其中一堂）。以及，這會是一門非常活潑、有挑戰，也絕對有別於其他課程的一門課，請期待。：）

我們上課時間是週一下午13:00-16:00，一次三小時，集中在其中九週上課，以及一次演出觀摩。

本學期上課日期如下：

9/22、10/13、10/20、10/27、11/17、11/24、12/01、12/15、12/22，
演出觀摩日為11/29（六）下午，地點在歌劇院。

請你務必預先空出這些日期（週一下午本來就是課程時間） ，如需請假也一定要跟老師說明。

The art of opera combines literature, history, music, dance and performance, and is a three-dimensional and comprehensive artistic presentation. This practical course is sponsored by the TSMC Cultural and Educational Foundation and assisted by the Guoguang Theater Company and the Chinese Department of Tunghai University in planning and executing the "Campus Opera Inheritance Project". It will be taught by a group of professional Peking Opera actors and teachers from the Guoguang Theater Company, and students will be personally involved in performance practice. Taking the traditional classic play "Spring Grass in the Hall" as a model, a group of professional Peking opera actors and teachers from the Guoguang Theater Company will personally teach Peking opera singing and performance, and conduct drills and training on body, voice, role, music, singing, costume and other aspects. Practical theater workers such as actors and rehearsals teach Peking Opera performing arts to students in an all-round way. It is hoped that the inheritance of opera can be more deeply rooted in the campus, and promote the spread of Peking Opera in Taiwan for the future. Let the student actors on campus attract more young students on campus, re-see the beauty of opera literature, and enrich the cultural heritage of life.

Students taking courses this semester need to take "Classical Opera" as an elective. "Classical Opera" focuses on the knowledge base of the aesthetic art of opera and script analysis. The practical class further arranges practical courses on opera performance. The main drama studied is "Spring Grass Enters the Hall", which is known as "the best comedy in the world". The connotation of this semester's study is the first scene "Crashing the Hall".


What is special about this course is that it is a course for learning Peking Opera performance, which emphasizes practice rather than sitting in class and listening to lectures; however, we still require students to have basic knowledge of opera; therefore, it is recommended that students taking this course must at least take or have taken two courses (at least one of them) "Classical Opera" and "Contemporary Opera and Theater" at the same time or in the past. And, this will be a very lively, challenging, and definitely different course from other courses, so please look forward to it. :)

Please note the following instructions:

Our class time is from 13:00 to 16:00 on Monday afternoon, three hours at a time, focusing on nine weeks of classes and a performance observation.

The class dates for this semester are as follows:

9/22, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/17, 11/24, 12/01, 12/15, 12/22,
The performance viewing day will be on the afternoon of November 29 (Saturday) at the Opera House.

Please be sure to clear these dates in advance (Monday afternoons are already class time), and be sure to inform the teacher if you need to ask for leave.

The class location is MD1612, downstairs of the 15th building of the men's dormitory. I will also send the map to everyone at the same time.
