This course is combined with the course designed by the Ministry of Education’s “Humanities, Social and Industry Innovative Link Plan”. The course will cooperate with the Architecture Department of the "Guanxi University of the University of Science and Technology" and the International Exchange and Science Department, and will be conducted through the Taiwan-Japan dual-direction exchange and the cooperation between the two schools. It is expected to visit local student cases in July 4-5 this year. Taiwanese students jointly conduct local realization, find problems from real situations, confirm residents' needs, and also implement the learning process of design thinking.
The course will use local inspections, field visits, data collection, and residents’ visits to compare the common situation and social issues faced by both local areas in Taiwan. In the contemporary situation of large population outflow and the average age increase, how can the university side help local people recover (including residents and visitors) through cross-domain discussions and professional thinking, and can describe and highlight irreplaceable local characteristics, so that local areas can gradually recover.
This course will be conducted by Taiwanese students and students in the community for a practical inspection, hoping to re-evaluate the regional resources and find problems, and make improvement suggestions through research and analysis, and put forward new functional mechanisms and related proposals.
