The aim of this graduate seminar course is to elucidate the concept of "Governance" in its various meanings and to demonstrate how thinking, concepts and theories of global/international governance can contribute to our understanding of the contemporary IR field. And in this aspect, the course approaches the global and international governance both as an emergent focus of research in IR, and an explication of the utility of international organizations/institutions and regimes in achieving public goods(ie., norms, values and maintenance of peace and stability)through collective action instead of the self-help.
