對外漢字教學已不再囿限於傳統文字學範疇，而是一門整合性的學科，教學者不僅要有傳統文字學相關知識，亦需有現代漢字學之事及兩岸漢字差異的認識。本課程鑑於上述原因，除了針對漢字相關知識進行介紹外，同時亦結合對外華語教學漢字研究，讓學生對於該教什麼、如何教、教多少等實務知識有較深之認識掌握。

The teaching of Chinese characters to foreigners is no longer limited to the scope of traditional philology, but is an integrated subject. Teachers must not only have relevant knowledge of traditional philology, but also need to have an understanding of modern Chinese character studies and the differences between Chinese characters across the Taiwan Strait. In view of the above reasons, this course not only introduces knowledge related to Chinese characters, but also combines the research on Chinese characters for teaching Chinese as a foreign language, so that students can have a deeper understanding of practical knowledge such as what to teach, how to teach, and how much to teach.
