每次課程前半由教師講授，按類別說明各種史料之典藏、出版及其應用方式；後半選取符合該週主題並能涵蓋修課學生研究方向之史料，帶領同學實際研讀，了解該史料之形式。修課學生須於期末進行一次口頭報告，並撰寫碩士論文研究計畫一篇。The first half of each course is taught by the teacher, and the collection, publication and application methods of various historical materials are explained by category; the second half is selected for historical materials that meet the theme of the week and can cover the research direction of students in the course, and bring students to study in actual terms to understand the form of the historical materials. Students in the course are required to conduct an oral report at the end of the semester and write a research plan for scholars.
