本課程以中國古典小說為核心，透過系統性引導，使修課同學能掌握古典小說領域的基礎概念。另一方面，透過研究方法之實際訓練，當可培養批判思考及獨立研究之學術能力。具體授課內容將由四個部分組成，包括：學術史回顧、學術資源應用、文獻研讀分析、研究論文撰寫等，茲分述如下：
學術史回顧：透過小說學術史總覽式回顧，將有助於初學者快速掌握小說歷來發展概況與當前主要研究課題，乃進入該領域不可或缺之敲門磚。
學術資源應用：學術資源將著重在傳統工具書介紹與新興數位資源操作，若能良好掌握並嫻熟善用，對開展研究當有事半功倍之效，乃修課同學亟需具備之基礎能力。
文獻研讀分析：研讀分析具代表性之學術文獻，亦是培養研究敏銳度的重要訓練，不僅可知悉特定議題當前研究成果，在細緻研讀的過程中，亦可作為修課同學學習參考之方向。
研究論文撰寫：修課同學需於期末需繳交一份論文格式完備之研究論文一份，作為探索古典小說領域的嘗試，亦作為驗證學習成果之參考。
This course is centered on Chinese classical novels. Through systematic guidance, students in the course can master the basic concepts of classical novels. On the other hand, through the actual training of research methods, the academic ability of critical thinking and independent research can be cultivated. The specific teaching content will be composed of four parts, including: academic history review, academic resource application, literary research and analysis, research and writing, etc., and the following are described in the following sections:
Academic History Review: Through the overview of the novel academic history review, it will help beginners quickly grasp the novel's development overview and current major research topics, and is an indispensable knock-on brick for entering this field.
Academic resource application: Academic resources will focus on introductions of traditional tool books and new digital resource operations. If you can master them well and use them well, it will have twice the result with half the effort in the development of research, which is an urgent basic ability that students in class need to have.
Literature Research and Analysis: Reading and analyzing representative academic papers is also an important training to cultivate research sensitivity. Not only can you know the current research results of specific topics, but it can also be used as a reference for students in the course of detailed research and reading.
Research essay writing: Students in the course need to submit a research essay in the final period as a trial to explore the field of classical novels and also as a reference for verifying learning results.
