本課程聚焦於明清兩代的歷史、社會、文學與文化，期能透過史學與文學兩種不同專業角度，帶領研究生透過史料、文獻、文本的閱讀與理解，對於明清時期的社會、文化內涵與生活圖像得以有深入的認識與理解；並藉以啟發對於相關研究議題的關注與思考。本課程也將用以說明並啟發學生打破學術領域之間的界線，任何時代的文化現象與文學創作都是歷史與社會現象的集體展現。文學的研究必然不能忽略對於歷史文化的理解，史學的研究也將從文學行為與作品裡窺看到更多歷史性的意義。

This course focuses on the history, society, literature and culture of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Through the two different professional perspectives of history and literature, it is expected to lead graduate students to gain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the society, cultural connotations and life images of the Ming and Qing dynasties through the reading and understanding of historical materials, documents and texts; and to inspire attention and thinking on related research issues. This course will also be used to explain and inspire students to break the boundaries between academic fields. Cultural phenomena and literary creations of any era are collective manifestations of historical and social phenomena. The study of literature must not ignore the understanding of history and culture, and the study of history will also reveal more historical significance from literary behaviors and works.
