大一中文旨在培養大學生進階閱讀與寫作能力，包含摘要、文本分析、詮釋方式、報告撰寫等層面，透過指定篇章閱讀觀摩，並輔以小組討論、報告，以期望大一學生能順利接軌至所屬系所需要的基本敘事能力。Freshman Chinese aims to cultivate college students' advanced reading and writing skills, including abstracts, text analysis, commentary methods, report writing and other aspects. They read and review through designated chapters, and discuss and report in small groups, so as to hope that freshmen can successfully handle the basic tasks required for their department.
