台灣各地早期存在以在地原生植物 槺榔、竹子、藺草等 為素材製作各種生活所
需器物的民藝技術。然而現在人們普遍仰賴塑膠製品的便利性，而逐漸不再製作及使用天然素材的生活道具。然而在永續社會的目標下，重新反思對自然友善的民藝與其所在地方風土的關係是必要的。本課程將透過地方風土與民藝的田野踏查，和學生共同探討民藝對生活與文化的意義。
