The goal of the course in the social field is to create students’ ability to acknowledge differences, be willing to affirm themselves, appreciate others and respect differences.
This course belongs to the social community's major theme.
Recently, health insurance statistics show that the number of people suffering from depression in Taiwan is growing year by year. The number is a group of college students who are young and smiling, and they have also seen similar phenomena. Even in the past few years, there have been news about self-killing cases. Therefore, the Ministry of Welfare also launched the "Little People Mental Health Support Program" last year, providing free psychological counseling for teenagers three times a year. It was even reported that some counties had a full rank three weeks after the policy was launched.
If we don't need to be depressed, but instead use "physical and mental imbalance", then most of the so-called modern society in Taiwan and even the world will have a period of time, long or short, and have experienced physical and mental imbalance. The torture and even pain brought by it.
We might as well say that there is no more moment in human history than today, and we need a set of value or life view that can make modern people feel at peace with their physical and mental health. The mainstream concepts and lifestyles that society has infused into us through family and parents, school education, careers, and media are often two extreme non-human properties: if it is not too romance or fantasy that cannot be affected by reality, It is irrelevant to physical and mental health, and even uses the price of slashing or even sacrificing the latter as a proxy to achieve the common practice of modern society itself.
What is difficult is that most of us often treat these mainstream value viewing and lifestyles without reflection, of course or have to be regarded as their own life viewing and world viewing, and deal with their own life, life and life, and the result is usually : Every day, pressing and fatigue, kneeling and licking the reality, exhausting all your enthusiasm, or being anxious and afraid of losing everything, and betraying the reality until your body and mind are unbalanced, seeking medical treatment, consulting for business medicine, and then continuing to the same lifestyle; what's more, it's dreams and fantasy, the mind and mind disperse, and even depression or violent hatred.
Therefore, this course believes that in order to live healthy physically and mentally in today's complex society with rapid change, noise and high uncertainty, the first thing to do is to re-examine these value-based and lifestyles circulating in society at present. How will it affect our physical and mental state? Only by breaking their natural or necessary can we move out enough psychological space to explore and construct the value of our lives, rather than relying on psychological counseling and medicines forever.
Finally, this course will explore how we fill in the next empty state after breaking these concepts for granted. Do we have other options? Should we adopt an aggressive action theory again and develop revolution and transform the world? Or do we hope for AI artificial intelligence that will be of great potential in the future? Or to return to the ancient wisdom of the pre-modern era and draw from it helps the modern world What about human motto or thoughts, just like the many spiritual chicken soup writers or so-called religious masters in the shop?
This course seems to be a soul-searching question, but in fact it is to provide leisure for the soul to rest, aiming to allow the students to collect their minds from the complex and hurry and carefully observe their own words and deeds. It is also the preparation for students to embark on their hero journey in the future, carefully check their existing mental equipment, and supplement their lack of weapons. Therefore, this course will focus on discussion and teaching, so that students can understand themselves more deeply and find their own life direction while discussing and listening to other people's ideas.
