這門課的探究重心，「不是」軍事戰略或國際關係層面，而是著重在戰爭跟社會生活的關係，特別是戰爭如何對人的認知、身體與生命、對現代國家、社會組織和結構產生長期影響。課程暫訂以下主軸，並搭配台灣、亞洲與世界相關案例討論 (正式版請見開學第一週課綱)：
1.) 戰爭的本質與類型 (科技、自然資源、貿易、心理宣傳...)
2.) 戰爭、身體與生命治理
3.) 戰爭從未停止？戰爭遺緒、民防與民主韌性

The focus of this course is not on military strategy or international relations, but on the relationship between war and social life, especially how war has a long-term impact on human cognition, body and life, as well as on modern countries, social organizations and structures. The course is tentatively divided into the following main axes, with case discussions related to Taiwan, Asia and the world (for the official version, please see the syllabus for the first week of school):
1.) Nature and types of war (technology, natural resources, trade, psychological propaganda...)
2.) War, body and life governance
3.) The war never stops? War legacy, civil defense and democratic resilience
