教育目標 Course Target

一直以來,大部分的社會學研究都將文學視為是文獻、材料,而以其作為研究對象,進行探討。即便欲擺脫實證研究的箝制,社會學家仍對文學也經常不得入其門,往往只能對其的外部研究,隔靴搔癢,甚至引來創作者、文學研究者的批評。故此,文學社會學這一學科的成立旨在解決文學研究與社會學之間在詮釋上的衝突。在社會學的研究中,這仍屬一門新興學科,尤其在臺灣的社會學研究中更屬萌芽階段。

在這一門課程中,首先介紹文學社會學的歷史發展、研究概況及其特色。之後,學生必須先掌握文學研究批評的六大關鍵概念,即閱讀、作者、文本(文學)、細讀、文意以及敘事,以便理解為何文學社會學不滿足於此。接著,我們將進入文學社會學所關注的議題,包括現實與否、價值問題、審美問題、文學生產以及文學場域的五大討論。每個議題都配合臺灣文學場域中既有的議題,以便幫助修課學生從社會學的視角對文學研究,能夠有更進一步的深入討論。

本課程適合對文學作品或文學研究感興趣的社會學系學生。除了課堂上所講授的關鍵概念與議題討論之外,老師也將與同學一起在課堂上實作分析不同媒介的文學作品。

For a long time, most sociological research has regarded literature as documents and materials, and used it as the research object for discussion. Even if they want to get rid of the constraints of empirical research, sociologists are still often unable to gain access to literature. They can often only conduct external research on it, falling short of what they are capable of, and even attracting criticism from creators and literary researchers. Therefore, the discipline of literary sociology was established to resolve the interpretive conflict between literary studies and sociology. In sociological research, this is still an emerging discipline, especially in the embryonic stage of sociological research in Taiwan.

In this course, we first introduce the historical development, research overview and characteristics of literary sociology. After that, students must first master the six key concepts of literary study criticism, namely reading, author, text (literature), close reading, meaning, and narrative, in order to understand why literary sociology does not satisfy this. Next, we will enter the issues that literary sociology is concerned about, including the five major discussions of reality or non-reality, value issues, aesthetic issues, literary production, and literary fields. Each topic is aligned with existing topics in the field of Taiwanese literature to help course students have further in-depth discussions on literary research from a sociological perspective.

This course is suitable for sociology students interested in literary works or literary research. In addition to the key concepts and topic discussions taught in class, teachers will also work with students to analyze literary works in different media in class.
