課程介紹：在一個科技加速、社會變遷加速、生活節奏加速的加速社會中，舊的地圖上找不到新的道路。趨勢指向未來時間、轉變所在、變化方向、新趨動力、當下診斷和未來預測。如何掌握趨勢，探索出適合自己的路？本課程規劃14場重要議題演講，協助妳前瞻重要社會趨勢。
講座緣起：賀榮貞女士（1922-2022），燕京大學家政系畢業，隨國民政府流離台灣，曾任東海大學校長英文秘書等職，並在社會學系兼課。賀榮貞女士依親赴美定居後，常感念「人生因東海大學而精采」，子女李琪、李瑋姊弟秉承庭訓，捐贈東海大學社會學系設立練馬可社會學講座、賀榮貞趨勢講座及大專生專題研究獎助學金，期勉學系學生勇於跨域探索、勿以學科自囿。

Course Introduction: In an accelerating society with accelerated technology, accelerated social changes, and accelerated pace of life, new roads cannot be found on the old map. Trends point to the future time, where the transition is, the direction of change, the dynamics of new trends, current diagnoses and future predictions. How to grasp the trend and find a path that suits you? This course plans 14 speeches on important topics to help you foresee important social trends.
Origin of the lecture: Ms. He Rongzhen (1922-2022) graduated from the Department of Home Economics of Yenching University. She fled Taiwan with the Nationalist Government. She served as the English secretary to the president of Tunghai University and taught part-time in the Department of Sociology. After Ms. He Rongzhen moved to the United States to settle in the United States, she often expressed gratitude that "life is wonderful because of Tunghai University." Her children, Li Qi and Li Wei, upheld the court's motto and donated to the Sociology Department of Tunghai University to establish the Ningma Ke Sociology Lecture, He Rongzhen Trend Lecture and the Special Research Scholarship for College Students. They hope that students in the department will be brave enough to explore across fields and not be limited by their disciplines.
