我們正處於一個利用數字來描述與理解社會的時代。比方說,政治上,我們利用民調來判斷總統的受歡迎程度;經濟上,我們用失業率來評斷政府的施政表現;學術上,亦常使用普查或調查的資料來進行研究,如利用「台灣社會變遷基本調查」來檢驗教育年數與薪資水準的相關關係。因此,社會統計是各大學社會學系的核心必備課程。不過,即使統計在生活和研究皆扮演了舉足輕重的角色,繁複的統計公式與模型卻常讓許多學子敬而遠之。本課程因此將以「統計思考」作為課程核心主軸,而非一般社會統計課程強調的公式運算。本課程 希冀以較為科普的教學方式介紹統計觀念與背景,並指出常見的不良統計來源與狀況,以增廣學生的統計思維能力,並搭配對統計報表的詮釋,來加強對統計的應用能力。
在這一學年的課程中,第一學期著重單變項描述分析、機率分布和信賴區間, 第二學期則聚焦在雙變項分析與迴歸分析。希冀藉由ㄧ學年的反覆打底,為大三的社研法實作專題奠定堅實基礎。【This table is for reference only. For the official course introduction, please see the February 2025 Grand Prix]
We are in an era where numbers are used to describe and understand society. For example, politically, we use public tutors to judge the popularity of the general; economically, we use unemployment rates to evaluate the government's governance performance; academically, we often use census or survey data for research, such as using " Taiwan’s basic social change survey was conducted to examine the relationship between education years and salary level. Therefore, social statistics are the core essential courses in various major social departments. However, even if statistics play a very important role in life and research, many students often respect it. Therefore, this course will use "State Thinking" as the core main axis of the course, rather than the formula calculation emphasized by general social statistical courses. This course hopes to introduce the concepts and background of the science-oriented teaching method, and point out common sources and conditions of bad statistical sources, so as to enhance students' thinking ability and combine them with comments on statistical reports to enhance their application ability.
During this year's course, the first period focused on single-change description analysis, probability distribution and reliability areas, while the second period focused on double-change analysis and regression analysis. We hope to lay the foundation for the social research and practice of junior high school through repeated foundations in one year.
