這門課是大學部的基礎經濟學課程，本學期講授總體經濟學（macroeconomics），討論經濟成長、物價膨脹、景氣波動、所得分配等問題。

除了介紹基礎經濟學的各種理論，讓各位了解市場機能和經濟政策的運作原理之外，這門課也會引導大家操作、應用經濟學理論來解釋各種政策和社會現象。希望能讓各位更關心周遭各種經濟、社會議題，並且能夠針對議題或政策進行批判性的討論。

作為未來進階經濟學課程的先備基礎，我們不會刻意迴避必要的技術性細節。修這門課不需要微積分的基礎，但中學程度的數學是必要的。

This course is a basic economics course in the university department. This course teaches overall economics (macroeconomics) during this year, discussing issues such as economic growth, price expansion, market fluctuations, and income distribution.

In addition to introducing various theoretical discussions in basic economics and allowing you to understand the operating principles of market functions and economic policies, this course will also guide everyone to operate and apply economics theory to explain various policies and social phenomena. I hope you can pay more attention to various economic and social issues around you, and be able to discuss critically about the issues or policies.

As a preparatory foundation for future advanced economic courses, we will not deliberately avoid necessary technical details. Taking this course does not require a basic micro-score, but mathematical level of secondary school is necessary.
