Industrial organization is an innovative and practical field of economics that explores the interaction between market structure, manufacturer behavior and government policies. This course is based on the basic theory of individual economics and combines game theory to analyze how interactions between manufacturers affect industrial structure and market performance. Course content includes the characteristics of monopoly and competitive behavior, comparison of market structures in different industries, and the design and impact of antitrust and market regulation policies. The course emphasizes the use of monopolistic competition and oligopoly models to explain economic phenomena that are closer to reality. Through case analysis, it helps students understand the application of industrial organization theory in practice and enhances their insight and analytical skills into industrial structure and policy challenges. This course will enable students to combine theory with practice and gain a deep understanding of the impact of economic policies on market and industrial development.

產業組織是經濟學科中發展較迅速、理論較創新並且是與現實經濟緊密結合的領域之一。本課程以個體經濟學的基本理論為基礎，以基礎賽局理論為架構，探討廠商間的互動行為對產業的影響。課程主要圍繞產業內廠商之間的獨佔與競爭關係行為，不同市場結構之特性與差異，以及政府制訂的反壟斷與管制政策相關的理論基礎。此外，課程中亦配合產業現況及個案的討論以引發學生對產業組織理論的認識，進而產生興趣，培養學生具備分析能力以了解各產業環境及政府政策在實務上所面臨的課題。

Industrial organization is one of the fields in economic disciplines that develops rapidly, has innovative theories, and is closely integrated with the real economy. This course is based on the basic theory of individual economics and uses basic game theory as a framework to explore the impact of interactive behavior among manufacturers on the industry. The course mainly focuses on the monopoly and competitive relationships among manufacturers in the industry, the characteristics and differences of different market structures, and the theoretical basis related to anti-monopoly and regulatory policies formulated by the government. In addition, the course also incorporates discussions of current industry conditions and case studies to arouse students' understanding of industrial organization theory and thereby generate interest, and cultivate students' analytical skills to understand the practical issues faced by various industrial environments and government policies.
