課程目標:
教授資料壓縮的基本觀念，以程式實作進一步瞭解資料壓縮技術的特性。並引導學生閱讀相關技術的論文。
課程內涵:
資料壓縮是一種基礎的資料編碼技術，它的應用層面極廣；凡是在儲存、網路、或多媒體等等的設備上，我們都可以看到它的存在。本課程教學主要的目的在於使學生們能了解資料壓縮的基本觀念與技術，使其未來能在工作上應用資料壓縮的技術來提昇自己的競爭力，或者也可以作為未來繼續研究時的基礎。
Course Objectives and Contents
Course Target:
Teach the basic concept of data compression and use program implementation to further understand the characteristics of data compression technology. And guide students to read articles on related technologies.
Course content:
Data compression is a basic data encoding technology with a wide application layer; we can see its existence on storage, network, multimedia, etc. The main purpose of this course is to enable students to understand the basic concepts and techniques of data compression, so that they can apply data compression techniques at work in the future to improve their competitiveness, or it can also serve as a basis for future continuous research.
