使學生了解固體廢棄物處理及處置方法及就業領域的現況及前瞻廢棄物處理方法之介紹。
廢棄物除一般家庭廢棄物外還包括事業廢棄物，任何污染的處理，最終歸結於固態廢棄物之型態，如何妥善的處理這類廢棄已是環境問題中相當棘手的問題，同時未妥善處理之廢棄物進而衍生出的水污染、惡臭或是海洋污染(如塑膠顆粒)都是急於解決的環境問題，因此如何讓本系學生了解此領域的知識是系上課程規劃的重點。

To enable students to understand the current status of solid waste treatment and disposal methods and employment fields and the introduction of prospective waste treatment methods.
In addition to general household waste, waste also includes industrial waste. The treatment of any pollution ultimately comes down to the form of solid waste. How to properly handle this type of waste has become a very thorny issue in environmental problems. At the same time, water pollution, odor or marine pollution (such as plastic particles) derived from waste that is not properly processed are environmental problems that are urgent to be solved. Therefore, how to let students in this department understand the knowledge in this field is the focus of the course planning of the department.

本課程介紹廢棄物之特性、收集、清運及堆肥、焚化、掩埋等各種處理方法，並介紹世界各國廢棄物處理技術研究發展之趨勢。

This course introduces the characteristics of waste, collection, transportation and various treatment methods such as composting, incineration and burial. It also introduces the research and development trends of waste treatment technology in various countries around the world.
