生理學是一門研究生命現象運作原理的科學。秉承古希臘以降的傳統，生理學應用解剖學、物理及化學的基礎知識來闡明生物系統運行的原理。生理學也融入了近代細胞學、遺傳學、生化學、分子生物學等的知識與技術，在細胞與分子的層次闡釋生命現象。人體生理學的重心在於介紹人體內從細胞，器官，到系統的各個層次之間，彼此的聯繫和交互作用。教學的內容將著重於人體各個部份之間進行溝通、協調、抑制及反饋等過程的機制，進而闡明人體內各個系統如何共同運作以在不斷變化的外在環境中維持個體生命的恒定性。課程將適時應用臨床教案提供學生分組討論的機會，並訓練學生閱讀英文獻的能力。

Physiology is a science that studies the working principles of life phenomena. Following a tradition dating back to ancient Greece, physiology applies basic knowledge of anatomy, physics, and chemistry to elucidate how biological systems work. Physiology also incorporates the knowledge and technology of modern cytology, genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, etc. to explain life phenomena at the cellular and molecular levels. The focus of human physiology is to introduce the connections and interactions between cells, organs, and systems at all levels in the human body. The teaching content will focus on the mechanisms of communication, coordination, inhibition and feedback processes between various parts of the human body, and then clarify how various systems in the human body work together to maintain the stability of individual life in the ever-changing external environment. The course will use clinical teaching plans in a timely manner to provide students with opportunities for group discussions and train students' ability to read English documents.
