中國在經歷唐宋變革之後，無論儒、釋、道的思想和實踐型態都出現極大的變化。本課程主要目標在於讓學生認識宋代以降道教產生的巨變，了解這對時期道教思想的特質，以及它對中古以迄於近世中國的思想產生何種影響。宋明道教有以下幾個重點：第一、內丹學說的發展和逐漸完善，並將禪宗思想融入煉丹的理論和實踐當中，形成內丹南北宗的思想潮流；第二、雷法融合內丹以及齋醮的傳統，成為宋代以降天心、神霄、清微等各道派的重要元素；第三、道教吸收理學思想以後，強調忠孝等道德觀念，形成淨明道等傳播廣泛的新興道派。本課程將從道教的唐宋變革開始講解，並介紹以上三項道教思潮的重點，俾使學生對宋代以降道教思想發展有提綱挈領的掌握。

After China experienced the changes in the Tang and Song Dynasties, the ideological and practical patterns of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism all experienced great changes. The main goal of this course is to enable students to understand the great changes that have taken place in Taoism since the Song Dynasty, to understand the characteristics of Taoist thought in that period, and to understand the impact it had on the thinking of China from the Middle Ages to modern times. Taoism in the Song and Ming dynasties has the following key points: first, the development and gradual improvement of the theory of inner alchemy, and the integration of Zen thoughts into the theory and practice of alchemy, forming the ideological trend of the northern and southern sects of inner alchemy; second, the integration of Lei method with the tradition of inner alchemy and Zhaijiao, becoming an important element of various Taoist sects such as Jiangtianxin, Shenxiao, and Qingwei since the Song Dynasty; thirdly, after Taoism absorbed Neo-Confucianism, it emphasized moral concepts such as loyalty and filial piety, forming new and widely spread Taoist sects such as Jingming Taoism. This course will start with the explanation of the transformation of Taoism in the Tang and Song Dynasties, and introduce the key points of the above three Taoist trends of thought, so that students can have an overall grasp of the development of Taoist thought since the Song Dynasty.
