樹木在農業的經濟生產、環境維護、景觀及美化等具有相當重要的角色，也具有相當大的經濟產值與環境效益。本課程所講述的樹木涵蓋範圍有果樹、景觀樹木及美化庭園之樹木等，透過瞭解樹木的生理生態、生長與結構力，學習樹木整枝及修剪的學理與技術，使學生瞭解樹木修剪之意義與目的，以及修剪之基本原則與方法。本課程結合實習可訓練學生基本之學理生理基礎及整枝修剪技術，以為將來從事果樹生產、景觀維護及庭園美化之樹木整枝與修剪的技術能力。Trees play a very important role in the economic production, environmental maintenance, landscape and beautification of agriculture, and also have considerable economic value and environmental benefits.
