從工業革命、網路革命到現在的二次工業革命，從集居、都市擴張、全球化到全球地方化，人類的生活與社會發生了本質性的改變。速度與效率的追求換來的是汲汲營營步伐中被我們忽略的環境議題；生活品質的改善與流行的變動下所伴隨的是邊緣化與弱勢生態族群的消失。當全球面對所有人類直接與間接活動所導致的極端氣候時，各個國家才發現大自然反撲的驚人氣候風險，意識形態中的人定勝天在當代永續地球運動下成為一個弔詭的話題。
本課程將由都市社會發展的鏡頭下解析所謂的「灰色基礎設施」與環境的議題，由永續環境觀點中的「慢性系統」來導入海綿城市的都市處理手法。隨著氣候風險的提高，師法自然的設計手法如何成功的提升環境承受氣候風險的韌性。經由探討「以自然為本的解決方案」（Nature-Based Solutions，簡稱「自然解方（NbS）」）系統中最主要的空氣、水與生態三個系統，來教導學生在面對都市相關空間議題上可以操作的自然解方，同時也探討社區營造與民眾參與在現代環境營造中的必要性。

From the industrial revolution, the online revolution to the current secondary industrial revolution, from the clustering, urban expansion, globalization to global localization, human life and society have undergone essential changes. The pursuit of speed and efficiency changes with the environmental issues we ignore in the pace of arduous operation; the improvement of quality of life and the change of popularity are accompanied by the transformation of edges and the disappearance of weak ecological groups. When the world faces the extreme climate caused by direct and inter-connected activities for all humans, countries have discovered the amazing climate risks of nature's reaction. People in the consciousness form have become a sensible topic under the continuous movement of the earth in contemporary times.
This course will analyze the so-called "gray-based facilities" and environmental issues from the lens of urban social development, and will guide the urban treatment methods of marine cities from the "chronic system" in the permanent environment view. With the increase in climate risk, how can teachers understand the natural design techniques successfully improve the recklessness of the environment to withstand climate risk. By exploring the three main systems of air, water and ecosystem in the "Nature-Based Solutions" (Nature-Based Solutions (simplified as "Nature Solutions (NbS)") system, we teach students the natural solutions that can be operated in urban-related space issues, and also explore the necessity of community construction and public participation in modern environmental construction.
