本系碩士班A組以人文科學為取向，探討人類與建築、都市以至整個生存環境相互間之關係，凡與此有關的問題，研究生均可選擇為研究或設計的探討課題。
•本系碩士論文分為學術論文與設計論文二類，前者著重訓練基本學術思考與分析方法，後者以培養完美主義的專業精神為目的。
•學術論文可以以下形式呈現：質性（Qualitative）或量化（Quantitative）研究；描述性（Descriptive）或因果性 （Cause and Effect）研究；理論性（Thereotical)或應用性（Applied）研究。若以應用性規劃書、設計準則或設計案形式完成之論文， 應對設計中某方面之特定旨趣有所追求與探索，並有相關發現、創意之提出。
•設計論文可以分為理論設計或實務設計二種。理論設計著重概念性設計的理論基礎或方法論的建構，實務設計強調專業精神的培育與建築師工作的完整認識。Group A of the master's class in this department is oriented towards humanities and explores the relationship between human beings, architecture, cities and the entire living environment. Postgraduate students can choose any related issues as topics for research or design.
•The master's thesis in this department is divided into two categories: academic thesis and design thesis. The former focuses on training basic academic thinking and analysis methods, while the latter aims to cultivate perfectionistic professionalism.
•Academic papers can be presented in the following forms: qualitative (Qualitative) or quantitative (Quantitative) research; descriptive (Descriptive) or causal (Cause and Effect) research; theoretical (Theoretical) or applied (Applied) research. If the thesis is completed in the form of an application plan, design criteria or design case, it should pursue and explore a specific purpose in a certain aspect of design, and present relevant discoveries and ideas.
•Design papers can be divided into two types: theoretical design or practical design. Theoretical design focuses on the construction of the theoretical basis or methodology of conceptual design, while practical design emphasizes the cultivation of professionalism and the complete understanding of the architect's work.

•研究生在開始研究工作之前，應先撰寫一研究計畫，以文字敘述論文背景、目的、問題假設、理論簡述、收集資料、數據的方法、分析方法、預期結果、研究流程時間表、及參考書目等。
論文提案內容架構應以能清楚表達關切之議題，及可能採行的探究方法為要義。此一研究計畫的撰寫由研究所一年級下學期「論文寫作」課開始要求，並併入成為「論文寫作」課的評分項目之一。
•論文「提案審查」分書面審查與口頭審查兩階段。各生應於規定日期之前先以書面方式，將提案送交老師預審，若二位老師認為提案大致可行，即可通過，進入口頭審查階段。老師認為書面提案不宜通過時，該生應另行提出新的書面提案。
•Before starting research work, graduate students should write a research plan, describing the background, purpose, problem hypothesis, theoretical brief, data collection, data methods, analysis methods, expected results, research process timetable, and Bibliography, etc.
The content of the thesis proposal should be structured to clearly express the issues of concern and possible research methods. The writing of this research plan is required from the "Thesis Writing" class in the second semester of the first-year graduate school, and is incorporated into one of the scoring items of the "Thesis Writing" class.
•Thesis "Proposal Review" is divided into two stages: written review and oral review. Each student should submit the proposal in writing to the teacher for pre-review before the specified date. If the two teachers think the proposal is generally feasible, it will be approved and enter the oral review stage. If the teacher thinks that the written proposal is not suitable for passing, the student should submit a new written proposal.
