In the course of a person's life, due to congenital or acquired factors, some people will become mentally or physically disabled. Due to limitations in the physical and mental aspects, the physically and mentally disabled people are subject to considerable restrictions in life, employment, career development, and social participation. This also affects the quality of life of their family members, caregivers, and even the entire family. There are multiple theoretical perspectives on how to treat the issue of disability. With the efforts of international organizations, civil society and national governments, great progress has been made in the human rights, protection and service systems for people with disabilities. In this process, social workers have become an important professional manpower that provides direct practical planning and service delivery. Their knowledge and skills will also affect the quality and effectiveness of the service process. Therefore, this course aims to explore relevant topics in social work with disabilities, and provide students with a further understanding of the academic and practical knowledge of disabilities from theoretical perspectives, policy evolution, and practice in practical fields. It is expected to enhance students' sensitivity and interest in this professional field, and then apply it to future thesis writing and career development.
