一、課程簡介
性別社會學/性別研究是一門跨領域學習的有趣學科，這個研究領域與我們日常生活大小事非常相關。西蒙・波娃曾說到：「女人不是天生的，而是變成的」來挑戰性別秩序形塑的兩性「天生說」。同志理論家巴特勒說到「性別是展演出來的」，她說到社會秩序與規範如何不斷的形塑我們個人日常生活的習慣與身體感知。而一整套性別體系對我們的價值觀形塑，經常出現在你我所不經意之處、在我們的好惡情緒、在眼睛所見之外，人們很不經意的就排除了女性（包括原住民女性、女工、女科學家等）或各類性少數族群。
早期女性主義者對於父權社會結構的反省，如今已經演變為更多元、複雜的問題化，例如，性別、種族與文化差異、異性戀機制、同志/酷兒運動、科技與醫療、性別與消費文化等。本課程以性別社會學、性別研究與女性主義理論為基礎，分別介紹並討論以下主題：理論化性別、女性主義認識論與方法論、性別與科學、性別與勞動等性別社會學之重要主題。

1. Course Introduction
Sociology of Gender/Gender Studies is an interesting interdisciplinary field of study that is very relevant to our daily lives. Simone de Beauvoir once said: "Women are not born, they become" to challenge the "innate theory" of both sexes shaped by the gender order. Gay theorist Butler said that "gender is performed," and she talked about how social orders and norms continue to shape our personal daily habits and body perceptions. And a whole set of gender systems shape our values, which often appear in places we don’t expect, in our likes and dislikes, and outside of what we see. People inadvertently exclude women (including aboriginal women, female workers, female scientists, etc.) or various sexual minorities.
Early feminists' reflections on patriarchal social structures have now evolved into more diverse and complex problematizations, such as gender, racial and cultural differences, heterosexual mechanisms, gay/queer movements, technology and medicine, gender and consumer culture etc. This course is based on gender sociology, gender studies and feminist theory, and introduces and discusses the following topics: theorizing gender, feminist epistemology and methodology, gender and science, gender and labor and other important topics in gender sociology.

3. Course Requirements and Grade Calculation
Assignment requirements for this course:
1. (30%) Weekly reading notes
2. (30%) Daily grades and introductory text: If you miss class three times, your usual grade will be zero.
3. (10%) Interim report
4. (20%) Final report
5. (10%) Speech Participate in two speeches this semester and submit your experience. Those who write their speech experience will add the total score.
