本課程為政治學系博士班必修之課程。該課程的設計著重於讓博士生準備發出未來的研究，特別是博士論文題目。
因此，我們在這一課程當中，將會大量的閱讀近年來的政治學相關文獻，領域則涵括了比較政治、台灣政治與國際關係的相關次領域
修課之同學務必要在上課前完成指定之閱讀項目，並且於上課的時候提出討論，扮演帶領討論的角色
期末時預期每一位同學必須要完成一份研究大綱，作為未來可能發展成博士論文的題目。

This course is a required course for doctoral students in the Department of Political Science. The course is designed to focus on preparing doctoral students for future research, particularly doctoral thesis topics.
Therefore, in this course, we will read a large amount of political science-related literature in recent years, covering the related subfields of comparative politics, Taiwan politics, and international relations.
Students taking the course must complete the designated reading project before class, raise discussions during class, and play the role of leading the discussion.
At the end of the semester, each student is expected to complete a research outline, which may be developed into a doctoral thesis topic in the future.

針對政治學中主要的領域及其研究作廣泛介紹，除了對現階段政治理論作批判外，也介紹現階段的各種研究方法以及新的研究發展方向。本課程除了可以豐富學生的研究視野，也可以奠定研究的基礎。除了讓學生瞭解目前研究的主要潮流外，對於學生將來研究的定向，也具有指標性和引導性。
