課程目標在於讓研究所同學了解在全球化與美中競爭的發展下，兩岸政府已經無法獨自決定統獨，彼此經濟的發展深受地緣政治影響。此外，兩岸經濟合作和社會矛盾也發揮相互作用。
課程內涵展現在幾部部分。第一，國家利益，思想和制度在兩岸關係中的相關性。第二，以政治經濟學與國際關係理論研究分析兩岸的發展及其相互作用。簡言之，由於中共發展的帶路倡議與天下體系已經挑戰美歐主導的自由主義國際秩序，未來兩岸在人民、政府、經濟三元互動，都關係到當前台海局勢的發展。 The course aims to let the institute students understand that with the development of globalization and the U.S.-China competition, the two-strait governments have been unable to decide their own discipline, and the development of each other's economic development has been deeply affected by geopolitics. In addition, cross-strait economic cooperation and social contradictions also interact.
The content of the course is shown in several parts. First, the correlation between national interests, ideas and systems in cross-strait relations. Second, analyze the development and interaction between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait through political and economic theory research and international relations. In short, because the CCP’s development initiative and the world system have challenged the liberal international order led by the United States and Europe, the three interactions between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait will be related to the current development of the Taiwan Strait Bureau in the future.
