本課程為環境工程研究所碩、博士班二門核心課程之一。
主要目的在教授與環境工程科學領域相關的生物原理，使學生瞭解目前應用於環境工程領域相關生物技術基礎原理，並能將所學應用於研究與未來實際工作上。
