柏拉圖《理想國》(Republic，又譯《國家篇》)是西洋哲學重要的經典著作，其中涉及的課題涵蓋正義、教育、善、存有論、靈魂、藝術等等，影響至今。本課程希望透過文本研讀，研讀《理想國》，瞭解柏拉圖重要的哲學思維：正義和國家的起源，善和理型論，存有與存有層級，可見世界和可知世界的區分，教育與人的本質、哲人王教育與今天的教育問題，柏拉圖的生死觀，以及藝術與真理的關係。
