禪宗研究自20世紀以來，吸引全世界學者的關注。利用敦煌和其他新出土文獻的記載，以及新的研究方法，我們對禪宗歷史和思想的理解大幅增加，並且逐漸脫離濃厚的宗派色彩。本課程期能幫助修課同學了解近代禪宗研究的幾項重大成績，對不同切入角度的禪宗研究有初步的理解，最後能提昇自身對禪宗的認識和研究能力。Zen Buddhism research has attracted the attention of scholars around the world since the 20th century. Using records from Dunhuang and other newly unearthed documents, as well as new research methods, our understanding of Zen history and thought has increased significantly and has gradually moved away from the strong sectarian overtones. This course can help students understand several major achievements in modern Zen research, have a preliminary understanding of Zen research from different angles, and finally improve their understanding and research capabilities of Zen.
