Course description:
This 2-credit synchronic online course is designed to enhance students’ online English presentation skills using two platforms: Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. Students will learn and practice basic presentation skills and discuss the differences between presenting in person and presenting online. Skills covered will include virtual meeting etiquette, use of body language, control of speed and intonation, speech organization, visual aids, and how to handle Q&A sessions. Students will be given plenty of opportunities to present in class on a variety of topics.
Course objectives:
On completion of the course, students should be able to
a) demonstrate an understanding of virtual meeting etiquette;
b) outline and organize an English speech on a familiar topic;
c) use visuals effectively when presenting in English;
d) use body language and voice inflection effectively when presenting in English;
